Abstract.<\/strong> The article addresses topics, connected to the specific opportunities for carrying out professional training of university students \u2013 future archivists, within the Archives and Document Studies Degree in the Faculty of History of University of Sofia. Since 2002, the future archivists are being prepared with a professional profile that fulfills the expectations and the actual needs of the labour market. These are also the principal criteria for evaluating the educational contents, the capacity of the professional lecturers, the training base, the information resources of Archives and Document Studies Degree. The accent is put on the lack of adequate policy for involving qualified lecturers namely in the field of archival studies. The conclusion is that the existing problems, despite the achieved results and the positive formal accreditations, put limits for developing the Bulgarian professional education in archival studies as competitive model in the contemporary network society. The recommendation is that adequate autonomous structures should be established for carrying out professional training and qualification in archival studies, similar to such foreign structures in this field.<\/p>\n

Abstract<\/strong>. The present article has been developed in accordance with the implementation of \u201eArchilandia skills \u2013 supporting the future through restoration of the past\u201d project. The project aims at integrating a successful training approach, which would support two problematic areas for Bulgaria \u2013 high unemployment in the provincial towns and national level necessity for specialists and approaches for adequate maintenance of architectural heritage. Bugaria is rich in cultural heritage sites, but they are poorly maintained and therefore fail to bring to the local community the incomes they would have otherwise enjoyed. On the other hand, the persisting stagnation in the construction sector creates problems for those engaged in it (many of them representatives of minorities), leaving many of them without jobs. The present project aims to respond to this through certain measures and additional qualifictions. The projects aims to support the application of a combined approach for studying and analyzing the resources of the territory and training local experts how to maintain and restore, hence take advantage in a sustainable manner from the local cultural and architectural sites. The Archilandia approach, which Zinev Art Technologies is making efforts to integrate in Bulgarian practices, has proven its effectiveness in pilot territories in Italy, Poland and Sweden, where it has been tested. The innovativeness of Archilandia contributes to raising the awareness of the economic and cultural value, inherent to local identity, connected with traditional and historic architecture, craftsman activities and the related traditions also through the use of artistic and creative means and new information technologies.<\/p>\n
