American Neorealism and Consciousness

Absract. Статията акцентира върху теоретичното разбиране относно природата на съзнанието в различните концептуални разработки на мислителите от американския неореализъм. Показани са идентичните теоретични тези за природата на съзнанието, на обектите, както и тяхната релация, познавателна сфера и когнитивно поле на съзнанието, корелативността между съзнание и биофизична човешка организация. Разкрити са несъществените различия при детайлното дефиниране на природата на съзнанието, които не променят характерната за направлението теоретична позиция относно проблема.

LOGICAL CHALLENGES

Kant’s System of Judgments

Abstract. In the Transcendental Analytic of Critique of Pure Reason Kant realizes a remarkable achievement – he derives the system of logical functions of judgment. This is namely the “legal claim”, which Kant’s investigation of the judgment has to prove in front of the court of reason. For this purpose, we will undertake a reconstruction of the course of proofs on which Kant generates this system. We will start with its initial grounding – by introducing the pure concepts, which divide “the entire field of the understanding”. From here, we have to reveal the connection between the pure concepts of the understanding and the judgments in thinking. In this consideration, Kant acquires a new definition of judgment and a new establishing of its constitution. Finally, a solid proof must be presented for the logical principle and the completeness of the system of logical functions of judgment in thinking.

Colonialism, Ethnicity and the Quest for Community Development in Africa

Abstract. The aspirations of post-colonial political elites in Africa can be summed up as the quest for development. This quest since independence, involves, in part, the pursuit of a common citizenship, shared nationality and common interests and values, the evolution of which provide the bedrock for mutual co-existence and the commitment of all to the common good. It also involves the establishment of institutions that will guarantee peace, justice, and fairness. However, the process of realizing these goals of broadening the scope of socio-political interactions have been vitiated by our colonial experiences and consequently unleashed certain centrifugal forces that have made the quest for community development in most African states a daunting task. The divisive tendencies of the colonialists created communal identities which provided a new symbolic and ethnocentric focus for each group where none existed and thus complicated the task of welding diverse elements in each colony into a coherent whole. This became the source of the proliferation of many life threatening conflicts which has impeded the process of community development in Africa. But why has these conflicts persist in spite of the several attempts to meet them? This paper argues that the above account fails because it ignores the values Africans place on human worth given expression in their communal context. The attempt here is to explore South Africa`s indigenous unifying social ethic of Ubuntu in arriving at a humane society that has a participatory value; founded on co-operation, charity, reconciliation and justice rather than the individualism of the West. This paper will, therefore, employ the analytic-descriptive method to examine the above in a manner many scholars have ignored in an attempt to develop a viable sense of community in Africa. Hence, it is expected that this paper will initiate a perspective that will challenge extant interpretation of this discourse.

Absract. В настоящата публикация ще разгледам накратко историята на капитализма до днес и ще аргументирам начина на опериране на този тип социална система като себекоригираща се екосистема с пряко влияние върху обществото и идеалите му. Ще представя контекста, в който възниква колективната идеология (КИ) като идейна система, като последствие от поредната еволюция на капитала. Накрая ще опиша характеристиките на обществото на алтернативната истина (ОАИ), връзката му с КИ и причините за появата му. Целта на този текст е от чисто анализационен характер, а не аргументация в полза или против определено становище.

Paradigms of Cinema Communication – Constellations in the Field of Cinema Art

Abstract. Determining the structuring models of communication in the plane of cinema art – the paradigms of communication in the field of art that mediate not only the interactions in the ‘author-film-audience’ relation but also function as implicit premises, both in the creation of a film and the establishment of its expressional, emotional and meaning consistency, and in its being perceived, experienced and understood by each separate viewer, as well as by the audience as a whole – would contribute to the restored legitimacy of cinema as an art in the current informational and cultural contexts.

Academic Autonomy in the Context of the Contemporary Idea of a University – Philosophical and Legal Aspects

Absract. Предмет на настоящата статия е академичната автономия като един от основните принципи за функциониране на висшите училища. Необходимостта от разглеждането ѝ се налага от промените, настъпили в обществените нагласи, и произтичащите от тях нови изисквания към висшите училища. Това предполага прилагането на един мултидисциплинарен подход (философски и правен), чрез който, от една страна, се изследва връзката на академичната автономия с идеята за университета, а от друга – се търсят границите на това понятие. Настъпилите промени в отношението към знанието, повлияването му от редица фактори (научни, политически, икономически) засягат идеята за свободното му разпространение и придобиване. Това налага създаването на нови модели на висше образование и необходимото правно регламентиране на отношенията между висшите училища и държавата, основаващо се на баланс между свободата и автономността на академичната общност и контрола, осъществяван от държавата.

Ancient Indian Philosopher Bhartrihari for the First Time in Bulgarian

Absract. Представена е първата част Брахмаканда на трактата
За изреченията и думите (Вакяпадия) на древноиндийския философ на езика Бхартрихари, излязла на български език за първи път през 2019 г. Трактатът се окачествява като един от най-емблематичните продукти на метафизичната философия на езика, създадена в руслото на школата адвайта – веданта. По думите на професор Братоева преводът на този забележителен философски текст на български език е осъществен от М. Пацева с професионална вещина. Аналитичната въвеждаща студия към текста е ценен опит да се хвърли мост между древноиндийските и съвременните трактовки на механизма на езиковите процеси.
