Absract. This article presents results of the musical notation skills of current students – future music teachers. The research was conducted at the beginning of the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 academic year with students from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridskiˮ, Faculty of Educational Sciences and Arts, major “Elementary School Pedagogy and Foreign Languageˮ before studying Didactics of music. The bachelor’s degree provides the acquisition of a teacher’s license after successful completion of the four-year course of study. The diploma of the future pedagogues gives the opportunity to teach the subject of Music in the initial stage of the
secondary (general) school. For practical purposes, the study was carried out before
the start of the lecture course on the Didactics of Music.
