Absract. Taekwondo is a popular sport with tradition and history.
It is characterized by dynamic movements that require strength, speed, endurance,
balance, and coordination. Safety is essential for practitioners of taekwondo. It includes injury prevention, adequate crisis response, and prevention of violence, harassment, and aggressive behavior. Coaches play an important role in providing a safe and healthy environment for taekwondo practice. They must have the necessary competencies and implement appropriate prevention measures.
This article proposes a model for healthy and safe sports pedagogical practice for taekwondo training. The model includes three main aspects: Prevention of sports injuries: it consists of several measures such as: appropriate equipment, proper warm-up and stretching, gradual increase in workload, individualized approach to athletes, training of coaches for injury prevention; Adequate response to crises: includes an action plan for natural disasters, acts of terrorism and other
emergencies; Prevention and adequate intervention of violence, bullying, and
aggressive behavior: includes training coaches to recognize and deal with violence,
bullying, and aggressive behavior, creating a safe and positive environment for athletes.
The model is helpful for taekwondo coaches as it provides practical guidelines to ensure a safe and healthy environment for sports practitioners.
