Abstract. A review of contemporary state, challenges and perspectives of integrative STEM education (i-STEM) worldwide is presented in this article. The issue of continuing education of teachers is outlined as one of the main factors for the development of this kind of education. A model for advancing the STEM teachers‘ qualification in Bulgaria based on the integral approach is considered. In conclusion, some guidelines for future work are introduced.
